2010-11-09 - Letter to and from Sen. Drilon - Dear Atty. Marcelo,
We respond to your letter dated October 6, 2010.
We fully understand the importance of providing adequate funds for the
Judiciary and the need to comply with the const itut ionally mandated financial
guarantees and fiscal autonomy to the Judiciary.
As a background, a Special Allowance for the Judiciary was authorized pursuant
to the Republic Act No. 9227 entitled "An Act Granting Additional Compensation in the Form of Special Allowances for Justices,Judges and All Other Position in the Judiciary with the Equivalent Rank of Justices of the Court of Appeals and Judges of the Regional Trial Court, and for Other Purposes".
